IN regards to seasonal carrying in the field carry a caliber accepted for th game you are after.

Like a .22 for small game and trapping.

Or the .357, .41, .44, .408, .50, .500 etc for big game.

So yes while hunting under those restrictions you may carry your sidearm while carrying a long gun.

The only exceptions are handgun restricted zones (currently none) or muzzleloading season.

And again the sidearm is not allowed to be concealed unless you posess a CC permit. And must be cased while in a vehicle. Also if you stop at a gas station or whatever do not carry openly it is only for in the field.
